Privacy Notice

What this website collects, what the Chrome extension processes on your own device, and exactly what a database sync sends and to whom.

Last reviewed September 4, 2026 · Written and reviewed by MapLeadScout Team

1

Scope

This notice covers mapleadscout.com, the MapLeadScout Chrome extension, and the account dashboard at app.mapleadscout.com. It will be expanded as billing and analytics services described in the Platform roadmap grow.

2

What the website collects

This website has no account form and does not store visitor personal data through the site application itself. If you contact us by email, the information you provide is used only to respond to your request.

3

What the extension processes

The Chrome extension processes prospect data in your own browser. A saved lead is written to local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) and stays there until you export it to a file or turn on database sync. MapLeadScout does not read your Google Maps browsing beyond the page you actively save or a search you actively run.

4

What happens when sync is turned on

Sync is off by default. When you turn it on and provide an API key, the extension sends the leads it collected to the MapLeadScout API, which uses that key to attach each record to your signed-in user and team — never to a team or user ID the browser itself claims. See docs/PRODUCT_PLATFORM_BLUEPRINT.md in the MapLeadScout repository for the full ownership model.

5

What we do not do

We do not sell contact information that you send us or that the extension collects. We do not read data from tabs the extension is not actively saving from.

6

Cookies

This website does not set analytics or advertising cookies today. If that changes before accounts or billing launch, this notice will be updated first.

7

Children’s privacy

MapLeadScout is a business tool intended for professional use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

8

Changes to this notice

This notice must be updated as additional account, payment, or analytics services described in the Platform roadmap launch. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated "last reviewed" date.
